You are responsible for everything inside your rented container, even items added by other people. If prohibited or unauthorized materials turn up, extra fees or penalties may apply. To reduce the risk, place the dumpster in a secure spot, keep an eye on who has access, or cover it with a tarp when it is not in use.

Every size has a weight limit that we explain at booking. If your load exceeds it, overage charges apply, usually figured per ton or per pound over the limit, and they are always prorated. Heavy materials like concrete, dirt, brick, or shingles are the common culprits. Estimate your debris weight as closely as you can and talk through the details in advance. If a load is overweight, you will hear about any extra charge before pickup.

Pick a flat, hard surface like concrete, asphalt, or compacted gravel. Laying plywood or boards under the wheels or rollers spreads the weight and lowers the chance of scratching or denting. Even with precautions, there is no way to guarantee a driveway or surface will not crack. Avoid soft ground, grass, or spots over underground utilities, and flag any concerns about your surface when you schedule so we can take added care.

A permit is usually not required for placement on private property like your driveway or yard. If the container goes on a public street, sidewalk, or anywhere that blocks public access, most municipalities require one. Rules and fees vary, so check with your local government in Romulus, Michigan, typically the city or county public works or permitting office, to confirm requirements and costs.
